Charlie & Lola

I don't know a huge amount about Charlie & Lola other than from watching it with my baby nephew (not, of course, that I'm really watching it...) but the name Lola is just so cute and the colours so pretty that it's no surprise at all, really, that the creator behind it all, Lauren Child, has a gorgeous home.

This is the way I like white to work - softened (or rather brought to life) with citrus brights without being limited to a one- or two-colour only "theme" although Lauren seems to use a lemony lemon yellow more than limes or pinks or blues, so I think that's the link through. But with lots of colours in your palette, at least anything goes!

I adore Lauren Child's work - her books are a lot like her home, a wonderfully coloured palette. Definitely take a look at them if you can. I also wrote a post about her home a while back: http://natashaworswick.wordpress.com/2009/02/15/spaces/
