Last night I went to see Breakfast at Tiffany's at the Theatre Royal Haymarket... I'm not going to write a glowing review, because, well I couldn't help but momentarily fall alseep in the first half (with hindsight I may have just been tired, but it was also very, very, long) but in anycase, during the interval, as I sat with my creamy vanilla pot, I took in the rather opulent interiors of the theatre. I'd never been before, and up where we were sat, were the most delightful crystal drop lights - very 1930s.
It reminded me of a few more timeless cut-glass and crystal shades I've seen recently...
I saw Woka at 100% Design last week - they have an amazing collection of very pretty Art Deco Venetian lights. I like this 1920s one and this octagonol one too:

Based in Cornwall, Skinflint Design specialises in reclaimed lights from the 1900s to the 1960s - they've got some great vintage lights, varying from pretty delicate teardrop glass globes to some pretty awesome industrial lamps which I reckon would work fabulously as retro lighting in a contemporary living space.

For something a touch more girly, I spied this in the October issue of Living Etc - it's Laura Ashley though you wouldn't necessarily know it (I thought it looked more tongue-in-cheek Heals, but there you go). It is quite the centrepiece though - and I love the tassled-fringe effect too. Very boudoir!

I'm sooooo excited about seeing this at the theatre. I adore the movie, and love the book too. Am going with girlfriends in a couple of weeks. x
