Bedroom bothers

OK. So my Paris tea-towel in a frame above my bed has done the rounds on the blogs.
But to be honest, I'm getting tired of it. I initially only put it up there because I wanted a cheap version of a fun print to put up (I'm very impatient - I could not have lived with a blank wall) as soon as I moved in. Hey presto.

But now, I feel the need for something a little more, well, dare I say it, grown up. Less girly (all the prints in my flat appear to slowly be replaced!). I'm torn between a bunch of frames artfully arranged above the bed like these ones...

I like the idea of useful shelves above the bed for trinkets and keepsakes - although my ceilings are not very high so I think it could end up looking a little cramped...

But I've also been meaning to replace my bedroom mirror which is absolutely nothing special whatsoever - so maybe instead of a print, a gorgeous mirror is really what I need - a la Alek at From the Right Bank's room (always a style inspiration).

I love her vintage French-style mirror - on the high street Next has one similar but wider

that I think would look lovely against this patterned wallpaper in white and silvery-grey from Missprint (I got the samples through yesterday)

- but that would mean going on to change all my bed linen to match too...

How I got from changing a print to now papering my entire wall and changing my entire colour scheme, I don't know, but hey, sometimes you just have to go with a great idea.

Which "above the bed" look do you prefer?

I love the wallpaper so would go for that with a mirror perhaps. I'm getting bored of white mirrors though, paint one grey or yellow? (she says with at least 2 white mirrors in every room!!)

i also adore the wallpaper- its lovely.

i like the cluster above the bed- i love the little letters. i think a combo of frames and other tidbits is best (like glass drops, letters, horse shoes or whatever - thats what I have on my wall anyway!)

I have that wallpaper in yellow for my walk-in wardrobe (otherwise known as a box room!)... I like the first pic best but if you're going grown-up then a mirror is probably your best bet.

Zoe - I never thought I'd say I wanted a wall vinyl, but I remember the picture you posted of the wallpaper you liked for your new bedroom, with the green leaves cascading down? Well, MissPrint does this wallpaper but as a vinyl also - ie having the saplings cascading down, in a soft grey so that it doesn't get too "colour schemy" and I'm thinking I might (might) try that as an easier option to getting it all papered...

I think you can't go wrong with a beautiful mirror.

Aw, you're so nice. I got lucky with that mirror - I got it at the local Design Center during their sample sale so it was something like 50% off. I've been thinking a lot about dark walls for the bedroom and I think that would really make the mirror pop. It would also look good against that wallpaper. That happens to be one of my favorite patterns. :) Doesn't MissPrint make the prettiest things?

I would go simple in the bedroom - mirror and wallpaper or just mirror.
